Temperature plunge forecast for North China
Adjust font size:

A strong cold front penetrating into northern China will bring low temperatures, strong winds and scattered snowfall over the next three days, the central meteorological observatory forecast on Sunday.

Most regions in northern China will expect a mixture of precipitations and a temperature drop of four to eight degrees Celsius during the period, while temperature in some of the regions will experience a sharply plunge of 10 to 14 degree Celsius.

The observatory also forecast dusty weather in parts of Gansu, Ningxia, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.

Meanwhile, heavy rain or rainstorm would hit southern parts of the country, including Sichuan, Guangdong and Guangxi. Some areas would be pelted by hailstones or thunderstorms.

China Meteorological Administration has lifted the warning against typhoon Neoguri Saturday afternoon because it weakened to a low pressure as it moved northward.

The remnants of Neoguri, the first typhoon to hit the country this year, struck south China for the second time with heavy rain and strong winds Saturday.
