Workshop on climate change held in Beijing

ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee Integrated Workshop on Coping with Climate Change in the Typhoon Committee Area shall be held in Beijing from 22 to 26 September 2008.

Mr. E Jinping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Water Resources, P. R. China shall take part in the meeting and delivered a speech. High ranking officials of JIAO Meiyan, Vice Administrator, China Meteorological Administration, Dr. Olavo Rasquinho, TC Secretary, Dr. Xuan Zengpei, Director of the Information Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division, ESCAP etc shall participate the meeting and make addresses.

In the workshop, Keynote lectures shall be made on many topics such as climate change and typhoon protection, climate change and water and regional cooperation on climate change.

The participants shall include officials, engineers and experts from countries of DPR Korea, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Macao, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singpore, Thailand, Uunited State of America, Vietnam, China and representatives from United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and so on.
