Adjust font size:

In Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province, several ice penguins melting gradually in the noonday sun have again raised concerns over global warming leading to the eradication of species.

Parents explain to their kids about the side effects of global warming while watching ice penguins melt in the noonday sun in Ningbo on November 25, 2007.

Website Zhejiang Online reported the ice penguins that were displayed at a local square was part of an environmental activity named "Farewell, penguins!", held by a local enterprise that aims to help raise public's awareness on environmental protection.

The creative way of promoting environmental protection was highly received and praised by visitors and scholars.

Besides ice penguins, 10 tips on environmental protection like using public transportation, abandoning disposable chopsticks and saving energy were also highlighted on the occasion.
