Residents and police team out to save cats

A police station joined forces with local residents to issue a notice looking for a suspect who had killed at least 10 stray cats near a residential area in Beijing in the past two months.

Since August 23, 10 bodies of stray cats have been found around the Zhichunli community in Beijing with most of them apparently killed brutally by the suspect.

The killer might have suffered a psychological block and killed the cats to vent some anger, some believe.

Residents of the Zhichunli community have urged police to stop the cat killer and secure a safe environment for the felines.
