Dutch national health authorities have confirmed two new cases of A/H1N1 influenza in the country, Radio Netherlands reported on Thursday.

The two victims are a 25-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, who are not related.

It is likely that they independently became infected with the virus in the United States. The man and the woman are undergoing treatment and are doing well, it is reported. Recent contacts of the two have been traced and will receive medication, if necessary.

So far, six cases of the flu have been confirmed in the Netherlands, with the latest three of them being infected outside Mexico.
