Chinese mainland reports 41 new A/H1N1 flu cases, total hits 226

China confirmed 41 new A/H1N1 flu cases Monday, bringing the total number of infections on the mainland to 226 with no fatalities.

The southwestern province of Sichuan alone confirmed 11 new cases from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday, eight of whom were tourists from the United States, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The capital Beijing reported eight new cases while Fujian and Guangdong provinces and Shanghai each confirmed five new ones.

Guizhou Province confirmed two new cases, and Yunnan, Shandong, Liaoning, Hubei and Zhejiang each reported one.

Of all the patients, 86 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the statement.
