Chinese mainland A/H1N1 flu cases increase to 867

The Chinese mainland confirmed 57 new cases of A/H1N1 influenza from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Wednesday, with the total number amounted to 867 and no reports of deaths.

Beijing confirmed 21 new cases and the southern Guangdong Province registered 20, according to a press release by the Ministry of Health.

Shanghai reported four and the provinces of Zhejiang and Sichuan each had three, Fujian Province confirmed two cases, Tianjin Municipality, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the provinces of Hebei and Henan each added one, it said.

Among the patients, 523 have been discharged from hospitals, 341 were being treated in hospitals and three patients were receiving medical care at their homes, the ministry noted.
