Adjust font size:

Macao reported eight newly confirmed cases of Influenza A/H1N1 on Friday, bringing the total number of such cases to 102.

Four of the confirmed cases were locally infected while the other four were imported, according to Macao's Health Bureau.

The four locally infected cases concerned two local high school girls, a 20-year-old local man who studied in a Taiwan college and a nine-year-old local boy.

Meanwhile, three of the imported cases were found in the Macao University of Science and Technology, as the patients were students of the university who had traveled outside of Macao recently. The other one was a 20-year-old local man who worked at a local casino, and he fell ill after traveling to Hong Kong.

According to the figures from the Bureau, some 20 patients who tested positive for the A/H1N1 flu virus were still receiving medical treatments at local hospitals, while 80 patients have recovered and have been discharged from the hospitals.
