A/H1N1 flu vaccine permitted to sell in Bangladesh

The Bangladeshi government has permitted the marketing of A/H1N1 flu vaccine 'Oseltamivir', national news agency BSS reported.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in a release that the medicine would not be sold without prescription of the physician.

The decision was taken at a meeting of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Huq with the directors of the private hospitals and clinics on the A/H1N1 flu management.

State Minister for Health Dr Mujibur Rahman Fakir, Health Secretary Sheikh Altaf Ali and Director General of Health Prof. Sha Monir Hossain and Director of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Prof. Mahamudur Rahman attended the meeting.
