An Indonesian military chief said yesterday that Indonesia will firmly stick to the one-China policy.

Indonesian army chief of staff, Kjoko Santoso, who is in Beijing for a visit, said the Indonesian government and military will continue their support for China on the Taiwan issue.

While meeting with Liang Guanglie, chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), Santoso expressed his hope that the two countries can further enhance military exchanges.

Liang spoke highly of recent military exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, which not only comply with the fundamental interests of the two countries but help maintain security and stability in the region.

Liang expressed his appreciation for Indonesia's adherence to the one-China principle, hoping the country could give understanding and support for China on the Taiwan issue.
