Officials and scholars from China and South Korea held a seminar in Beijing Wednesday on promoting bilateral relations and cooperation.

During the seminar, hosted by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the two sides discussed the political systems, economic and social development of the two countries, and party-to-party exchanges.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-South Korea diplomatic ties and the Year of China-South Korea Exchange. This seminar on party-exchange is also a part of the exchange activities.

Ismail Amat, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress and Lee Sang-Deuk, deputy speaker of South Korean National Assembly attended the seminar.

Ismail Amat said he hopes the political parties of the two countries can work together to make joint efforts for the development of bilateral relations and a peaceful northeast Asia.
