China Appoints New Ambassador to Britain

Chinese President Hu Jintao on Wednesday appointed Fu Ying as ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

 

Fu was appointed to replace Zha Peixin after the nomination was approved by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature.

 

Fu served as ambassador to Philippines and Australia before the new post. She was born in 1953 and graduated from the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
