Moldovan president hails relations with China

Moldova and China have deepened cooperation in various fields and achieved fruitful results in recent years, Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin said Wednesday.

Voronin made the remarks at a meeting with outgoing Chinese Ambassador Gong Jianwei, reports from the Moldovan capital of Chisinau said.

Bilateral relations have enjoyed a sound political foundation, the president said, adding that the two countries have maintained dialogue at various levels and close cooperation in international affairs.

After the meeting, Voronin awarded an honorary decoration to Gong, who took up his post in 2005.
