Hu, Medvedev meet on bilateral ties
Adjust font size:

Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met in Toyako, northern Japan, Wednesday to discuss ways of furthering bilateral strategic and cooperative partnership.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the outreach session of the Group of Eight (G8) summit.

G8 groups Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States. President Hu was invited to the outreach session of the G8 summit.

This is the second meeting between the two leaders in less than two months. In May this year, the Russian president paid a two-day state visit to China as Hu's guest.

During the visit, the two sides agreed to promote bilateral strategic and cooperative partnership, and expressed their determination to give priority to the development of a long-term and steady partnership.
