Chinese state councilor meets Singaporean guest

Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong met with Singaporean Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on Thursday, underscoring the educational cooperation between the two countries.

"China and Singapore have different advantages in education. The two countries should strengthen educational cooperation, learn from each other's strong points and achieve common development," Liu said.

She spoke highly of the educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Singapore in recent years. The two countries are conducting increasing exchanges and cooperation in this area. The relevant departments and universities of the two countries also established stable and broad cooperation.

Liu also expressed gratitude for Goh's support to the educational exchanges between the two countries.

Goh is in China for the upcoming 2008 Summer Davos forum to be held in north China's Tianjin Municipality.
