Chinese state councilor meets senior Russian official

Visiting Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo on Thursday met in Moscow with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev to discuss bilateral cooperation.

The two sides hailed the China-Russia strategic partnership of cooperation, and agreed that the two countries enjoy enhanced mutually beneficial cooperation and fruitful consultations on ensuring international and regional peace, security and stability.

They also exchanged views on the changing international situation as well as global and regional challenges faced by the international community.

The two sides pledged to strengthen mutual trust, support each other in national sovereignty, security and integrity, and boost cooperation in maintaining world peace and furthering mutual prosperity.

Dai arrived in Moscow on Wednesday on an official visit to Russia at the invitation of Patrushev.
