A delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC), led by Liu Yunshan, member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and head of the CPC Central Committee Publicity Department, wrapped up its good-will visit to Iran on Sunday.

During his three-day visit, Liu met with Iran's First Vice President Parviz Davoudi, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar- Harandi and other officials.

In his meeting with Davoudi on Saturday, Liu conveyed the warm greetings of Chinese leaders to their Iranian counterparts and noted that Chinese government and people have always cherished the traditional friendship between China and Iran.

The friendly cooperation between the two countries has strengthened in recent years as senior officials in both countries paid visits to each other frequently and new progress were made in trade, cultural exchanges and relationship among political parties, Liu said.

He stressed that enhancing cultural exchanges between China and Iran will help to make peoples in both countries understand each other more and promote cooperation in other fields.

Davoudi, for his part, said that Iran has a very positive view in developing relations between the two countries.

Now Iran and China are developing their relations smoothly and cooperation are progressing steadily, Davoudi said, adding that Iran hopes China, while continuing to strengthen its economic ties with Iran, will enhance cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The CPC delegation left Beijing on Wednesday for good-will visits to Iran, Bahrain, Egypt, Israel and Palestinian territories.

The delegation was invited by the governments of Iran, Bahrain and Israel and Egypt's ruling party, the National Democratic Party and the Palestine National Liberation Movement.
