Nepal welcomes more Chinese people to come

Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav said on Thursday that Nepal welcomes more Chinese people to come to the country for investment and tourism.

During meeting with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi in his residence in Kathmandu, Yadav said both Nepal and China are ancient and civilization countries. Nepali people have been nourishing friendship sensation towards the Chinese people.

Nepal lauded the great economic achievements made by the Chinese people in recent years. It also expressed its sincere thanks to the Chinese government for supporting Nepalese people in their promoting economic and social development over the past years.

Nepal has always been upholding "One China policy" and principled stand of not allowing its territory to be used against china, the president reaffirmed.

Yang praised highly support by the Nepali government in making the Beijing Olympics successful and in the Chinese people fighting against the strong earthquake that took place in China's Sichuan Province earlier this year. He also appreciated Nepali government' s stand on the issues of Tibet and Taiwan.

Yang made it clear that China is ready to extend full support to Nepali people's efforts for safeguarding sovereign and independence, realizing national peace, political stability and economic development.

The two sides agreed to enhance and upgrade bilateral relationship to a new height with the expansion and consolidation of mutual interaction in all sectors.

They also agreed that exchange of visits at high levels will contribute towards enhancing mutual understanding and goodwill between the two countries.
