In a video message, President Hu Jintao reviewed achievements in relations, and looked to the future.

Chinese President Hu Jintao said, "On behalf of the Chinese government, I send warm congratulations to the exhibition of photographs covering 30 years of Sino-US relations. I also send my best wishes and regards to the people who have worked hard to promote the relationship between the two nations for a long time. Over the past thirty years, the relationship between China and US has made remarkable progress and great achievements. These benefit the people of the two countries, and promote the peace, stability and development of the whole world. Like a scroll of vivid historic scenes, these photos showcase significant progress in the 30 years of Sino-US relations and inspire us. If China and the US strive to show strategic vision, persist in constructive cooperation, strengthen their dialogue, promote their mutual trust, and expand their cooperation, I believe that the relationship between the two nations can become even better in the future. I hope that the exhibition will be a great success."

In his message, U.S. President, George W. Bush, expressed his happiness at being able to commemorate the 30th anniversary of US-Sino ties. He also said he has witnessed China's significant changes in the past 30 years. Bush said he saw China begin its process of modernization in 1975 when he came with his father George Bush Senior, who was in China for the exchange between the two countries. He said that in 2008, during his last visit to China as US President, he was proud to see China's success in hosting an exciting Olympic Games.
