"Discover China" cultural festival wraps up in Italy
Adjust font size:

The biggest cultural festival China has ever staged in Italy, "Discover China", wrapped up Sunday with a concert featuring works by modern Chinese composers.

A fireworks display was made for a happy and joyful ending at the largest cultural event between Italy and China since the successful "Year of Italy" in China in 2006.

Chinese ambassador to Italy Sun Yuxi and Gianni Borgna, president of festival co-sponsor Music for Rome Foundation, attended the event.

During the festival, which opened on May 23 in Rome, Chinese artists brought musical, opera, dancing and martial arts performances to Italian audiences. Exhibitions on Chinese cooking and medicine were also displayed.

As an ancient country undergoing massive economic and cultural changes, China had a lot to show the Italian audience, Borgna said at the opening of the festival.

The festival offered the Italian people a chance to know more about China, he said.
