More countries have sent messages of condolence and aid to China in view of the devastating earthquake that hit the country's southwestern Sichuan province on May 12, a Chinese Foreign Ministry press release said Thursday.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari has recently offered his condolences to China, while the Peruvian parliament once again passed a motion to offer condolences to the Chinese government and people over the quake, and express its support for China's quake relief efforts.

Meanwhile, Vietnam has donated 200,000 US dollars, 150 tents and 10,000 cans of milk power, and the Philippines have pledged aid worth 100,000 dollars for the victims of the quake.

Luxembourg will provide an additional 250,400 euros (398,773 US dollars) worth of aid to China, including 50,000 euros (77,830 dollars) in cash and 2,150 tents.

Till midday Thursday, 68,516 people were confirmed dead in the 8.0-magnitude earthquake, which had its epicenter in Sichuan's Wenchuan county. The number of injured has reached 365,399, while 19,350 people are missing.
