Adjust font size:

Leaders and delegates from 45 Asian and European countries and organizations will gather in Beijing for a summit from October 24 to 25, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

"The theme of the Seventh Summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is 'Vision and Action Towards a Win-Win Solution'," said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu at a regular press conference.

She said the participants will conduct an in-depth discussion on international and Asian-European regional politics, the economy, society and culture at the biennial summit.

The summit is aimed at expanding and deepening the equal dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation between Asia and Europe, so as to create a win-win solution and benefit the people of both continents, she said.

Founded in 1996, ASEM's members now include China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, the 10 nations of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ASEAN Secretariat, the 27 nations of the European Union, and the European Commission.
