Russia-US talks on missile shield see no breakthrough
Adjust font size:

Showing his broken arm, US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates denied he is a difficult negotiator in the 2-plus-2 talks with Russian counterparts, but the talks held in Moscow were seen as tough with no breakthrough on a planned US missile shield in Central Europe.

Talks between top Russian and U.S. diplomats and defense ministers have failed to reach a compromise on U.S. plans to deploy missile shield components in Central Europe, a plan rejected by Moscow.
