Abbas arrives in Damascus for Arab summit

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Friday to attend the upcoming Arab summit scheduled for March 29-30.

Abbas was received by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at Damascus International Airport.

Abbas came as Arab foreign ministers renewed commitment to the Arab peace initiative during their preparatory meeting on Thursday ahead of the 20th Arab summit.
