20 killed in bus-train collision in Bangladesh

At least 20 people were killed and 40 others wounded in a collision between a bus and a train on late Tuesday night in Bangladesh Tangail district, 80 km northwest of capital Dhaka, private television ATN reported on Wednesday morning.

The television did not give more details in its breaking news and only said that the Dhaka-bound express train collided head-on with a passenger bus killing 20 people, but the television did not mention how the accident happened.

The injured people were sent to different local hospitals for treatment.

It also said that officials of Bangladesh Railway have gone to the scene of the accident.
