Reports: Kidnapped Pakistani ambassador recovered
Adjust font size:

Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan Tariq Azizuddin has been released, local TV channels reported Saturday.

Dawn TV quoted sources as saying that Azizuddin was expected to reach home soon.

Azizuddin was kidnapped with his driver and a bodyguard in Pakistan's tribal Khyber Agency on Feb. 11 while traveling to Afghanistan.

In March, Taliban released a video footage in which the Pakistani ambassador made a plea to the Pakistani government, his brother, the foreign ministry and his friends for his release.
