In an email letter sent to her supporters, Clinton confirmed news reports that she will end her presidential bid and endorse Obama on Saturday.

However there is no official announcement about whether it will be a unconditional quitting or just a suspension of her campaign.

Obama became the first African-American to be a major party's presidential nominee as the Democrat Party wrapped up this year's nomination primaries Tuesday.

He has passed the threshold of 2,118 delegates needed to secure the nomination, after six months of fierce competition with Hillary Clinton.

The meeting with Obama was initiated by Clinton after a daylong series of talks between their aides.
