12 killed in missile attack in Pakistan's tribal area

As many as 12 people were killed in a missile attack in Pakistan's tribal area bordering Afghanistan, private TV channel DAWN NEWS reported Friday.

The incident took place in Shabikhel area of North Waziristan tribal region, an area which has witnessed a string of cross- border attacks by United States drones, said the report.

Four missiles hit a house in the area, leaving 12 persons including four foreigners dead and seven others injured.

Pakistan's tribal areas bordering Afghanistan have seen missile attacks by suspected U.S. drones, triggering protest and condemnation in the country. Pakistan has asked the United States to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
