Police to carry out passport check
Adjust font size:

Foreigners in Shanghai should carry their passports with them for random checks by police, according to the Exit-Entry Administration of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau.

The bureau also warned students planning to study overseas to pay attention to their passports' period of validity. The warning follows numerous cases, including a university student surnamed Wang who applied for visa on May 12 to study in Australia in July. Officials found his passport would soon expire and Wang only just received his new passport in time to qualify for his course.

The service window opens 9 AM to 5 PM at 1500 Minsheng Road in Pudong New Area from Monday to Saturday.
