The official website of China's National Stadium (www.n-s.cn)
opened on Monday.
The website has general information about the facilities as well
as a traffic guide and calendar of major events at the main stadium
for next year's Olympic Games in a user-friendly interface. It
features English and Chinese text as well as a multimedia
introduction.
Located in the southern part of the "Olympic Green" in Beijing,
the main stadium has a floor space of 258,000 square meters. Its
seating capacity is 91,000, including 11,000 temporary seats.
Nicknamed the "Bird's nest" because of its futuristic design,
the venue will host the Game's opening and closing ceremonies,
football and track and field events.
Construction of the stadium started in December 2003 and was
expected to be completed in March.
