Adjust font size:

"Facing the disaster, we are of the same family!" said Zhao Chenghui, a South Korean lady and an Olympic torchbearer as well, in the Beijing Olympic torch relay Hefei leg, central China's Anhui Province, on Wednesday.

Zhao is a teacher at Hefei university and was selected as a torchbearer for her outstanding performance as a teacher in contribution to enhance the relationships between the two countries.

With her help, more that 800 Chinese students went to study in South Korea and more that 500 South Korean students are studying in China. "I feel happy to be the bridge linking the two countries," said Zhao.

"I feel very excited and glorious to be a torchbearer," added the 50-year-old lady.

"I feel very sad for the earthquake in Sichuan. China is such a vast country with 56 nationalities and more than 1.3 billion people, but they are unprecedentedly united at the moment. Everyone is helping the disaster-hit areas."

"The Olympics is not only the festival of China, but also for the whole world," Zhao stressed. "'One World, One Dream' is the slogan of the Beijing Olympics, but facing the disaster, we are of the same family!"
