At the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Chinese athlete Luan Jujie won the gold medal in fencing with an impressive display of skill. A quarter of a century later and now a mother of three, Luan Jujie is making an Olympic comeback, this time representing Canada.

In order to qualify for the Olympics, Luan Jujie has competed in all major qualifying games organized by the International fencing committee, and on her own expense. With perseverance and good form, she earned a ticket to the Beijing Olympics within a year. She says her Olympic dream pushed her to where she is.

Luan Jujie said "No matter how old I am , my dream has been to participate in the Olympic Games in China. With this dream, I kept fighting and age is not an issue."
