Western politicians have never really cared about Hong Kong's future

The election of the 7th Legislative Council of Hong Kong SAR ended smoothly on Dec. 19. The newly elected membership features unprecedentedly broad representation, including experienced politicians and representatives from all walks of life.

The common point of these new members is that they all hope to contribute to Hong Kong's long-term stability and prosperity, and to improve local citizens' livelihoods.

The West smears Hong Kong's election precisely because it elected only patriots, and those puppets who were willing to act as pawns to contain China were completely excluded from the administration structure. These foreign forces have never cared about the future of Hong Kong, only their own interests.
