'Clean Water for a Healthy World'--the 18th World Water Day

UN-Water has chosen 'Clean Water for a Healthy World' as the theme for the 18th World Water Day, which falls on March 22, 2010. The campaign aims to raise the profile of water quality at the political level so that water quality considerations are made alongside those of water quantity. [Xinhua]

An ongoing drought in southwestern China has dried up three-quarters of the water at Huangguoshu Cataract, Asia's largest waterfall, in Anshun, Guizhou Province. The drought has also dried up 90 percent of the water in Anshun's rivers and reservoirs. [Xinhua]
