Apple fans flocked to an Apple store in Shanghai early Friday to buy the iPad. The store opened at 8 am, two hours earlier than normal. The Wi-Fi iPad, which launched in China this morning, is now available in Apple stores and at authorized resellers across the nation, with a starting price of 3,988 yuan (US$592.89) for a 16-gigabyte model, 4,788 yuan (US$712) for the 32-gigabyte model and 5,588 yuan (US$830.76) for the 64-gigabyte model.
