Serious drought plagues C. China's Hubei

Photo taken on May 4, 2011 shows the Xiadian River, nearly dried up by continuous drought, which is the main source of drinking water to 15,000 residents living in Xiadian Township of Dawu County in central China's Hubei Province. A serious drought has hit the Hubei Province since November of 2010, bringing one-third of its counties and cities under serious water shortage. [Xinhua/Hao Tongqian]
