Tu loves to write poems as well as translate them. For him, both are equally important. He says: "Some people say that, when you have translated poetry for some time, the things you read are generally better than those you write yourself. You translate the masters of all times and they are just so talented that you don't think you'll ever match them. That's not my way. The works of masters inspire me. I read them and absorb their styles -- how they think, structure the whole thing and how they get inspired, which in turn inspires me. I will structure my poems and inspire myself accordingly, and thus motivate my own writing." [Photo by Chen Boyuan/ China.org.cn ]
