Chelsea, Spurs achieve 3 straight wins at Premier League

Both Chelsea and Tottenham Spurs continued their winning streak by beating Fullam and West Ham respectively Sunday.

Each team fully collected nine points from three matches, but Spurs edged Chelsea to top the Premier League standings on goal difference.

Chelsea were kind of repressed in front of a tight defence line of the hosts and it was Fullam that found the first chance when Clint Dempsey fired over bar.

But with six minutes remaining in the first half, the visitors eventually made breakthrough with some quick passing before Didier Drogba slot home Nicolas Anelka's pass.

The Blues found it still hard to score although they dominated the second half just as they did in the previous 45 minutes.

Thanks to another brilliant teaming up from two strikers, Chelsea finally sealed the win 2-0 in the 76 minutes.

Drogba provided the ball to last season's top scorer Anelka, then the Frenchman spurred to past Mark Schwarzer and shot home an empty goalmouth.

Spurs were also unstoppable since they opened their Premier League season with an exciting win over powerhouse Liverpool.

They were left behind when Carlton Cole scored with a spectacular strike in the 49th minute, but overcame the hosts with two fantastic goals.

Cole made a fatal mistake just five minutes after his score, as his long back pass fed Jermain Defoe smoothly before the in-form attacker smashed in his fourth league goal this season.

With 11 minutes remaining, Aaron Lennon fired left-footed into the far corner.

It is the first time in 49 years that Spurs have won their first three league games of the season.

Besides, newly-promoted Burnley saw off Everton 1-0 after their stunning victory over the defending champions Manchester United four days ago.

Liverpool will meet Aston Villa at Anfield on Monday.
