Ivica Olic hit hat trick to steer four-time champions Bayern Munich to 3-0 away at Lyon to advance into the Champions League final for the first time in nine years.

Having beaten Spanish club Valencia in a penalty shootout in 2001, the German club goes for its fifth European Cup against either Barcelona or Inter Milan in the May 22 final.

Having lost the first leg 1-0, Lyon started nervously and Bayern should already have scored before Thomas Mueller set up Olic in the 26th minute.

The Croatia striker pounced again in the 67th and 78th and has five goals in his last four European outings.

Lyon captain Cris was sent off in the second half, leaving the home side to continue with 10 men.

Barcelona hosts Inter on Wednesday, with Inter leading 3-1.
