Security is a top priority at major international or regional events. In order to ensure a safe Asian Games, forces at Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou, south China have practiced an anti-terrorism drill ahead of the 16th Asian Games in the city in December.

80 passengers and 7 crew members pretend to be held hostage by terrorists on a plane to the city. Armed police, firefighters and ambulances quickly arrive at the scene. After a breakdown in negotiations, armed police break into the plane and overwhelm all the terrorists on board, rescuing all the hostages. More than 10,000 athletes from more than 45 countries and regions are expected to attend the games, and such exercises aim to ensure their safety.
