Commonwealth Games champion Sushil Kumar might miss next month's Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, due to injury.

The Indian wrestler said on Friday he has decided to skip the event as he wants to recover from the shoulder injury he suffered during last month's world championships.

The Indian grappler said he took the decision keeping in mind the tough season ahead, which includes Olympic qualifiers.

"The world is a very tough competition and immediately after, I started preparing for Delhi. I did not end up getting much recovery time," Sushil said.

"I need to do this because I have to be fully fit for the next season, which includes Olympic qualifiers," he added.

Kumar has won the gold in all three major competitions -- Asian, World and Commmonwealth Games.

However, Kumar said he is yet to take a final decision about his participation in the Asiad.

Another Indian wrestler Pradeep Kumar will replace Sushil in the 66kg category in Guangzhou.
