South Korean table tennis star Kim Kyung-ah says she and partner Park Mi-young stand a good chance to win the gold medal in the doubles event at next month's Asian Games in Guangzhou.

In an interview with Xinhua on Thursday, Kim, who won the bronze medal in women's singles at the 2004 Athens Games, revealed her longing for a gold medal in Guangzhou.

"Park Mi-young and I kept getting good results in women's doubles, and I think winning a gold medal is quite achievable if we practice with more focus on women's doubles because I think China attaches less importance to the women's doubles event," Kim said.

South Korea failed to win a single gold medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, the first time since the 1986 Asian Games.
