Guangzhou Asian Games launches multilingual service

The multilingual service centre for the 16th Asian Games opened officially in the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies on Saturday.

The multilingual service centre will provide interpreting services for accredited Games participants. Interpreting service offered English, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Thai, Indonesian, Cambodian, and Vietnamese to Chinese interpreting and vice-versa.

"The multilingual service centre is the final perimetre of language service in Asian Games," said Gu Shiyang, Deputy Secretary General of the centre. Gu explains all the communication problems that can't be solved in the venues will be solved in the multilingual service centre.
