Chinese swimmer Zhou Jiawei won his second gold at Guangzhou Asian Games as he claimed the men's 50 meters butterfly title on Tuesday.

The Guangdong native, defending champion of the event, touched the wall first in 23.66, beating Japan's Masayuki Kishida by 0.47 seconds.

India's Virdhawal Vkram Khade finished third in 24.31.

"I fulfilled my goal today," said Zhou, who claimed the 100m butterfly gold at Guangzhou Asiad on Saturday. "The 50m fly gold is what I want most."

"I was quite confident before the race as I had won it once in Doha Asian Games," he added.

"I tried my best," said the silver medallist Kishida. "I think I performed well."

The bronze was an important one for India as it was the first swimming medal they won since 1986.

"I made many mistakes in the beginning," said Khade. "I will try hard in the next race to correct that. This is the first medal for India in swimming since 1986."
