Guangzhou ready for the Asian Para Games

After two years of diligent preparation, Guangzhou is now ready for the Asian Para Games, which will begin Dec.12. The Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (GAPGOC) held a press conference on Dec. 11 to introduce the preparatory work for the Games.

Chen Guo, deputy secretary general of GAPGOC, vice mayor of Guangzhou Municipality, discussed the preparations:

1. Competition management is in place.

The Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games will primarily utilize 19 competition venues that were used during the 16th Asian Games. Certain facilities and equipment for the 16th Asian Games, including sports equipment and information technology system hardware, will also be used for the Asian Para Games. In addition, some competition equipment and medical-classification equipment has been specifically introduced for the Asian Para Games. Sports equipment and information technology system hardware have already been installed, checked and adjusted to ensure full operational readiness. These facilities will meet all operational requirements of the Asian Para Games.
