Jin Long of China plays in the first round match against compatroit Ding Junhui at the Haikou World Open on Feb. 28, 2012.

Ding Junhui made a shock exit at the Haikou World Open on Tuesday as qualifier Jin Long caused a major upset with a convincing victory.

In an all-China clash, former Tour player Jin beat Ding 5-1 to progress to the second round.

Jin, who ousted Sam Baird in the wildcard round, capitalized upon Ding's mistakes to open up a 3-0 lead.

Ding hit back with a 68 break in the fourth frame, but he was always struggling after such a sluggish start.

After the mid-session interval Jin went on to win the next two frames to nail down the victory.

In Tuesday's other matches, Shaun Murphy beat Ricky Walden 5-3, John Higgins beat Marco Fu 5-3.
