Defending champion Mark Allen has advanced into the Haikou Open final after beating John Higgins 6-2.

Defending champion Mark Allen has advanced into the Haikou Open final after beating John Higgins 6-2.

Mark Allen, the defending champion of Snooker Haikou World Open, advanced into the final after beating John Higgins 6-2.

Allen will play against Matthew Stevens in Sunday's final.

At the very beginning of the session tonight, Allen did not find his good touch and leaving Higgins made one 90 points hit to win the first frame. However, Allen fought back strongly with a break of 119 points to level the score.

After sharing the next two frames, Allen continued his brilliant form while Higgins began to make more mistakes. Allen thus took the chance to win another 3 frames to get the match point.

At the match point, Higgins still could not find his form while Allen made a break of 79 points to won the eighth frame, and run a 6-2 win at last.
