Russia wins another gold in synchro swimming

Russia's Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Svetlana Romashina perform in the synchronised swimming duet free final during the World Swimming Championships at the Sant Jordi arena in Barcelona, July 25, 2013.

Svetlana Romashina and Svetlana Kolesnichenko have given Russia another gold medal in synchronized swimming, easily winning the duet at the FINA world championships.

The pair added to their gold in the duet technical, receiving a score of 97.680 points at Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi arena. Jiang Tingting and Jiang Wenwen gave China the silver with 95.350, while Spain's Ona Carbonell and Margalida Crespi Jaume took bronze with 94.990.

Russia is now five-for-five in synchro and widely expected to repeat its sweep of all seven events at the 2011 worlds in Shanghai.

Romashina already has quite a haul, winning four golds in Barcelona to give her 14 for her world championship career.
