Schumacher has been lying in a coma in a French hospital since the December 29 accident when he crashed into a rock so hard that the impact cracked his helmet.

Reports from German magazine Focus claimed that the waking-up process of Michael Schumacher had been put on hold.

Schumacher has been in a medically-induced coma since suffering head injuries in a skiing accident eight weeks ago.

The F1 legend has been receiving round-the-clock care after the French Alps accident which resulted in life-or-death injuries while out skiing with 14-year-old son Mark in Meribel where he owns a chalet.

But a German magazine quoted "insiders" saying doctors at the University of Grenoble Hospital in France had abandoned the attempts due to "complications".

The latest reports in Germany sparked fears complications had set in, possibly including reduced blood flow, a new infection or signals that the drugs lying in the fatty tissue of his body were not shifting as fast as they would have hoped.

Focus claimed the recovery phase was back on ice and Schumacher was once again medicated to keep him under.
