Phil Jackson was formally introduced as president of the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
Jackson won two NBA titles as a player with the Knicks in the 1970's.
The 68-year-old collected as many as 11 NBA championships as coach of the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Knicks, which stayed at the ninth place of the Eastern Conference ranking, were fighting for a play-off spot at moment.
Jackson were also expected to run the team well as the team's top-scorer Carmelo Anthony could choose to end his contract this summer.
